The first thing to clean is the aircon filter. It is a removable part, often made of nylon, that filters the air entering the unit and traps dirt and microparticles including dust.
Filters tend to clog with dust. If they become partially or fully blocked, airflow drops, the unit works harder, and running costs go up.
Regularly removing and cleaning the filter keeps your system efficient and the air in your home cleaner. Your service technician covers this as part of a routine split or ducted service.
